Basement Sealer Tip

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

The only way to do it right is to go outside the house. Dig a trench to the top of the footing all the way around the basemant or house walls , clean the walls as best as you can below ground lever, tar the entire wall area all the way around with about 5 coats one at a time.

Apply tar paper at least two layers( 30 weight tar paper)around the entire wall or pour cement about 1 ft thick which is expensive (the cement). Pour rocks in the trench all the way around and pack in with red clay.

Complete with filling in fill dirt. Or you can try sealing the floor and walls inside with a concrete sealer form sherwin Williams or some other paint store. Go see them and they may have some new or better sealers. If you seal it you need several coats over several days.
